Does the App work on e/OS, LineageOS, or Huawei (without Google Services)?Updated 3 hours ago
The short answer is: No, unfortunately not at this time.
For the DIE RINGE App to run smoothly, it strictly relies on Google Play Services. These system interfaces are essential for our app to handle critical functions, such as:
Secure Login.
Subscription management.
Streaming the workout videos.
What does this mean for you?
If you use an operating system that removes Google Services ("de-googled"), the app will likely fail to start, crash immediately, or be unable to play videos. This affects, among others:
e/OS (Murena)
GrapheneOS / CalyxOS / LineageOS (without GApps)
Huawei Smartphones (newer models without Google Play Store)
Are there plans for the future?
We fully understand and respect the desire for open-source solutions and increased privacy. However, as a small team, we currently do not have the development capacity to build and maintain a separate version of the app that functions independently of the Google infrastructure. Our focus remains on optimizing the experience for standard Android and iOS users.
Therefore, we cannot offer support for workarounds (such as MicroG). To train with DIE RINGE, you will need a device running standard Android (with Google Play Store) or an iPhone.
